Basque Trade & Investment came about with the purpose of boosting business internationalisation in the Basque Country, through the development of a new portfolio value added services, the creation of a competitive intelligence unit to strengthen the network of offices abroad. To do so, all of the capacities and assets of internationalisation services and programmes are integrated in a single organisation. This merger leads to a higher level of specialisation and proximity to the client and a reinforced ability to understand and adapt to specific needs. Basque Trade & Investment work with their foreign network so that Basque companies can export further afield or consolidate their position in international markets. We are looking for a Project Manager to work in the office located in Washington (USA). The Project Manager’s goal is to support and promote the internationalization of Basque companies through different programs and services provided by the Basque Government and aimed to assist the business fabric of our country. We provide a range of customized services to encourage exports and imports, promote a better positioning in strategic markets and facilitate technical assistance to set up commercial delegations and production plants. In addition, we advise foreign investors who wish to invest and establish in the Basque Country, becoming their best partner in Europe. As part of our strategic plan for this attractive and challenging role, the candidate will report to our Director based in Washington DC and will support the growth of the business. The candidate will interact with both Basque and American companies providing excellent service and assisting in the development of their projects. Other tasks include industry specific research, exploration of business opportunities, database update, support at meetings, fairs and events and any other related activities required by our administration. • Perform market research by sectors and regions • Analysis and identification of business opportunities for Basque exporters and investors • Identification and contact with potential partners and clients in the USA • Advise companies on the process of exporting their products to the USA • Draft technical economic and trade reports • Manage client and contact database • Execution of marketing activities to promote the internationalization of Basque Companies • Organization of trade missions and agendas • Attend conferences and trade shows Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Management, Engineering or equivalent studies • Master’s degree desirable • 2-3 years minimum experience • Internationalization activities preferred • Fluent in Spanish and English • Basque knowledge is desirable • Proactive and autonomous behavior • Team Player and ability to collaborate with different departments • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills • Strong research and analytical ability • Demonstrates the ability to be customer and client oriented • Command of MS Office package • Knowledge or interest in the Basque Country and its culture will be valued
